Bao Chi Nguyen

Bao Chi Nguyen, 18, passed away on November 1, 2024, after a massive stroke that progressed to brain death. Bao was born on September 21, 2006, in the modern city of Viet Nam. He then immigrated to the US with his entire family at the age of 4.

He spent 4 years living in Orange County, California before moving to Dallas, Texas in 2014. Bao graduated with honors from North Garland High School in June 2024 and was accepted to UT Dallas to study Computer Science, poised for a promising future. He had a love for woodworking and building miniatures. He was also a food lover and wished to travel for food someday. He had good taste for sure! The first instrument he played was trumpet and he was pretty good at it, as he had won some solo awards. He also won medals when participating in the Academic Pentathlon.

Bao was described as a helpful and obedient student at Catholic Church School. As a remarkable young man, Bao embodied integrity, humility, and a deep appreciation for life. His intelligence and empathetic nature have always made him a pillar of support for those around him.

Bao is survived by his parents Ngoc Nguyen and Lanh Tran; sisters Anh Nguyen, Van Nguyen, Thuong Nguyen; Nguyen Nguyen (Phuc Nguyen); brother Nam Nguyen; and nephews Dustin Vo-Eden Nguyen, Jason Nguyen, and Jacob Nguyen.
