Vito Virgilio

Vito Fino Virgilio, age 85, of Tomahawk, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2014 at Aspirus Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Vito was born October 16, 1928 to Antonio and Angela Virgilio in Bitritto Bari, Italy. In 1931 he arrived in America by a ship named Patria to Ellis Island. He met the love of his life, Rita, in 1947. April, they celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary. Vito and his Family moved to Rhinelander in 1971.

Vito is survived by his wife Rita, three daughters Julia (Earl) Virgilio, Angela (Ron) Zalesny, and Pamela (Matthew) Nowak, two sons Anthony (Evelyn) Virgilio, and Joseph (Heidi) Virgilio, 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, and a brother Dr. Joseph (Tanya) Virgilio.

Vito is preceded in death by his parents and sister Ann Lo Presti.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, May 29, 2014 at 12:00 pm at Nativity of Our Lord – St. Joseph’s Church with Father Tom Thakadipuram officiating. There will be a private Burial.
