Dorothy E. Reiser, age 97, died on Friday, May 23 after a brief illness. She was born on January 21, 1917 in Crandon, WI. The family later moved to the Rhinelander area when her father became the tender of the Hat Rapids Dam. She grew up in the town of Crescent where all the members of the family were avid participants in the life of the community. Dorothy’s primary focus was always her family. An avid reader and enthusiastic life-long learner, Dorothy graced many conversations with her humor and hard-won wisdom. She will be sorely missed.
Dorothy was a faithful and lifelong member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish where she participated in various women’s groups throughout the years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Max and by her sister, Beatrice Ek, her two brothers, Raymond and Edward Biermeier and by her grandson, Jeffrey. She is survived by her daughters, Barbara of Baileys Harbor and Ruth “Annie “of Three Lakes; three granddaughters, Catherine, Mary and Jennifer; by 6 great-grandchildren, Casey, Helen, Anise, Joe, Pete and Cassia and 3 step great- grandsons, John, Peter, and Adam and by many loving nieces and nephews.
