Barbara M. “Barb” Seymour, age 76, of Rhinelander, died Sunday, September 30, 2012, at Seasons of Life Hospice House, in Woodruff. Barb was born in Rhinelander, on February 13, 1936, to Edward and Gladys Hehn. She attended grade school in Rhinelander and was a 1954 graduate of Rhinelander High School. After high school, Barb was employed at Reardon Drug Store. She was united in marriage to Harold Seymour in August of 1956 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. The couple moved to Racine, Wisconsin in 1961 and later to Sturtevant, Wisconsin where they lived until 1976. While living in Sturtevant, Barb was employed by Harmon’s Bar and Café. Barb along with her family moved back to Rhinelander in 1976 where she was employed at Twist Drill, and later for over thirteen years at Subway Restaurant retiring in 2001.
Barb enjoyed camping, gardening, flowers, cooking and baking, keeping track of the weather, a good cup of gourmet coffee, and visiting with her family. She also enjoyed reading Danielle Steele, and Nora Roberts novels, as well as reading the Harry Potter series. Barb was a dedicated and loving mother, and was very loyal and full of pride for her family.
Surviving are her children; Randy Seymour of Rhinelander, Lori, Cindy (Perry) Riggle of Fountain Hills, AZ, Brenda (Dave) Newman of Rhinelander, WI, Kelly, Sidney (Karen) Seymour of Parrish, FL, six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harold, and by two brothers, Edward (Dee) Hehn and Jimmy (Shirley) Hehn.
Private burial of Barb’s cremains will take place at the Newbold Cemetery. Hildebrand-Russ Funeral Home, 715-365-4343 is assisting the family with arrangements. All are invited to light a candle and leave an online condolence at hildebrandfh.com.
