At age 11, Wanda moved to Albert Lee, Minnesota to live with her Aunt Rose.
Wanda was married to Ken Johnson in Minnesota and had 3 children, Donna, Joann, and Duane, and moved to Issaquah, Washington. In 1949, Ken passed, leaving her a widow with 3 small children at the age of 29.
In 1950, Wanda met Berle Brooks and they were married on September 6, 1952. They had 2 daughters, Debbie and Connie. In 1958, they moved to Renton and bought a home. Wanda was a stay-at-home mom, and she loved taking care of her family. Wanda loved to sew, embroidery, quilt, and read. One of her favorite things to do was to tend her garden, especially her roses.
Wanda worked at Boeing until Debbie was born. In 1966, Wanda want to work at Paccar, until she retired in 1984. Wanda and Berle traveled, after their retirement, but Wanda's favorite time was being at home with her family and enjoying her life.
Wanda is survived by her daughters, Joann Spires, Debbie Brooks, and Connie White, and 10 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Wanda was preceded in death by her husband Berle, her daughter Donna, her son Duane, and granddaughter Christine. She died on September 22 2022 at the age of 102, at her home. She will be missed but never forgotten.
