Dick was born September 27, 1933 in Evansville, Indiana, the son of Oscar and Edith Hass. He married Dolores Pearsall February 11, 1956. Dick and Dolores were married 66 years. Dick attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY before he served in the Army 1953- 1956. Upon discharge he completed his education, earning his degree In Electrical Engineering.
Dick began his 37 year career with Boeing in Seattle in July 1959. Places and jobs include working with the BOMARC, Seattle; Silo Minuteman launches at Vandenberg Air Force Base, CA; first stage of Saturn 5 moon launch vehicle, New Orleans, LA; participated in the launches of Apollo 11 moon landings, Cape Canaveral, FL; PHM hydrofoils and jet foil; wiring design of 767 AWACS, Seattle.
After retiring in 1995, Dick and Dolores enjoyed traveling visiting England, Greece, Italy, Germany, Mexico, Poland, Switzerland, Austria and Africa.
Survivors include his wife Dolores; sons Richard (Cheryl); David (Heidi); Bruce; Steven (Leslie); 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
