Patricia Rose Dennis (Pat) peacefully passed away August 9th, 2022, in Bellevue WA after living a happy and fulfilled life. She was born October 29th,1934 in Seattle, Washington. Patricia was the daughter of the late Harry and Monica Trout. She was 87 years old.
Pat was a devoted woman who took great joy in watching her family grow into several generations.
She is survived by her children Timothy Dennis, Pamela Porter, Michelle Ralph, granddaughters Ashley Porter, Leslie Ralph, Holly Ralph, cherished great-grandchildren Jordan and Hailey Games, her lifelong friend Janice Cloonan (Jan), and her beloved cat Samantha.
Pat lived in Seattle her entire life, having attended St Edwards and Holy Rosary schools where she met her best friend Jan. Their friendship began in the 6th grade, continued throughout the many milestones of their lives, and remained close friends until her passing. She looked forward to the many lunch dates they shared (that lasted hours) so they could catch up on everything!
Pat officially retired from the Boeing Company where she worked for over 35 years in the Commercial Division. She was a member of the BMA and was proud of her contributions on the many programs she worked on; which covered the 707, 727, 737, 747, 767, and the next generations.
She was a devout Catholic and enjoyed life. She made attending mass a priority even while on vacation. The first thing she would do is find the phone book and look for the closest Catholic Church to get the Mass times. She will be missed not only by family but by her friends at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church where she attended Mass for the last 56 years. Pat was very active in many groups at St Anthony's including Pastoral Council, and RCIA - sponsoring new members learning the Catholic Faith, helping during the holiday drives, and community outreach. She loved the many friends she met at St Anthony's and talked about them often.
She was also very involved in her Hilltop Suburban Community for 56 years working hard to keep her yard and the community grounds beautiful, full of flowers, and a safe place to live. She was the first to welcome new neighbors and did her best to continue helping in work parties and attending meetings late into her eighty's. Pat had two "Guardian angels" posing as neighbors (Kelly and Michael) who kept watch over her that she dearly cherished. She often expressed how touched she was by their kindness and how she appreciated having them so close.
Pat was an avid sports fan supporting all Washington State sports, but mostly the Seattle Seahawks and Washington Huskies. Never wanting to miss a game she would adjust her schedule going to Mass around the football games. Of course, her favorite games were those her great-grandchildren participated in. It didn’t matter if it was cold, hot, rainy, windy, or on occasion perfect weather, she never missed a soccer, baseball, or softball game. She was always on the sidelines cheering them on.
Pat enjoyed traveling over the course of her life and also taking her kids and grandkids on various trips to California, all over the state of Washington, and countless trips to the Oregon Coast. One thing about traveling to an amusement park with her, you were there when the ropes dropped and didn’t leave until the park closed. We all had a hard time keeping up with her.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the amazing staff at Overlake Medical Center in Bellevue and the Evergreen Health Hospice Team.
There are no words to express our thanks for the care they provided Patricia and to her family in her last days.
