Gloria was the daughter of Dario and Olive (Bagnariol) Bulgarelli, born December 4th, 1926, in Taylor, Washington (King County).
Gloria moved to Renton after graduation from Tahoma High School in Maple Valley, WA. Gloria worked at Pacific Car and Foundry until the end of WWII. Soon after the war she met Daniel P. Cartwright on a blind date as they attended a Seattle Rainer's baseball game at Sick's Stadium. She and Daniel married on June 7th, 1947 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Renton.
Gloria also worked at the Service Laundry, in Renton and retired from South Seattle Drapery as a seamstress.
Gloria's foremost role was taking care of her family. She made delicious Italian meals along with her perfect pies. Famous for flaky pie crust without measuring, with apple and Pacific Northwest blackberry (picked by Dan) being favored. Gloria was an avid bowler, more likely than not bowling a 200+ game each session.
She was very competitive in double deck pinochle and we could find her collecting baseball cards, coins, cars and bears. She was a master at puzzles and the best helper that dad had in his recycling hobby. Affectionately known as "Ma & Pa" in the industry.
She is survived by her sons, George (Janet), Douglas (Lynn) and daughters Carrie (Greg) and Gloriann (Sandy). Four grandchildren, Analisa, Alan, Steven and Wesley. Gloria also has eight great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, her parents and her brother Sgt. George A. Bulgarelli.
Memorials may be made to the Maple Valley Historical Society, P.O. Box 123, Maple Valley, WA, 98038.
There will be no memorial service per her request.
