On the morning of June 2, 2020, Mom stepped aboard her cloud and began her journey to heaven leaving behind children Neena, Nino, Gabre’ , Anjell, grandchildren Arianna, Nico (Frannie), Nieces Lisa, Nannette, Mimi, Vinece and nephew Matthew(Julie) brother in-laws Remo, Rio and her beloved dog Tucker.
She is preceded in death by her husband Bob Ciotta, parents Owen and Elizabeth Hogan, and sister Betty “Jinx” Borracchini.
Born Mary Agnes Hogan in Renton, WA on October 26th 1929.
As a young girl she attended St. Anthony’s School and later graduated from Holy Angels High School. She spent her childhood surrounded by her love of family, dogs, movies, picnics and dances. Her first job was as an usherette at Roxy Theatre in Renton. She enjoyed it so much that she would come home and reenact the movie scenes along with her sissy Jinx, on Grandma Hogans front porch. She even sent a song audition to a music producer hoping to become the next singer starlet and was told to “keep up the good work” as a reply.
After graduating high school she worked for United Pacific Insurance Co as a receptionist and there she met her lifelong friend Glennie who she kept connected to her entire life.
Going to a dance one evening with her sister she met the love of her life Bob and after seven long years of dating they married April 26, 1957. Their life grew in 1959 with the first of four children.
One day on a drive, she took a wrong turn and ended up finding her dream lot in the Skycrest neighborhood on the outskirts of Renton, where Bob would later build, along with his brother, their first home. In 1969 her dream home was complete with a round roman style bathtub that was the signature of her home. To her delight she also discovered a couple of fellow Rentonites who also lived in the neighborhood and the magic of the four couples friendship began. Her greatest happiness was hosting themed dinner parties, Saturday afternoon coffee meet ups , excursions to Harrison Hotsprings with her beloved friends and her favorite hobby, thrift store shopping. In her later years she met wonderful friends and strangers at her favorite store Freddies and was a fixture there. She also treasured her husband, children, grandchildren, and dogs, and the feeling was 1000 percent mutual to the very end.
Aggie leaves behind her legacy of helping others, entertaining and supporting family and friends through good times and in bad, and her strong Catholic faith. She will be missed tremendously by everyone who had the honor of knowing her. She was truly unforgettable and one of a kind. We love you forever Mom. Keep the coffee pot warm for us.
If you would like to make any donations in her name please honor her through St. Judes Hospital.
