Nikki Tina Marie Laliberte was born in Regina, SK on June 23, 1985 to Sharyn McKay and Archie Laliberte and passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 9, 2023 with her husband and sister Krystle by her side. Nikki will be remembered for her strength, resiliency and how she was able to fight for her life right until she could not do it any longer. Nikki grew up in Buffalo Narrows, Saskatoon and Fort Qu’Appelle. Later in life she settled in Regina where her dad and stepmom resided, where she made her home with her loving husband Jonathon and son Jase. Nikki always cared for others, before herself, and was a nurturing “mother hen”. Nikki was known for taking care of the people she loved with everything she had. She dedicated her time to hair styling, she was very artistic with haircuts and specialized in hair braiding and makeup. She had a dream to one day open her own hair salon. Nikki always cared for children within her family and her special niece Kalina was always right by her side going on adventures with her aunty. Growing up, Nikki lived with aunty Anne and also lived with Grama Eileen. She travelled many places with her aunties. Nikki was strong willed, she stood up for what she believed in, she was fearless and brave. Nikki had a tough exterior and sensitive heart. She always had an open door for her family and friends to provide them with a space to stay when they and nowhere else to go. Nikki loved being up north living her best life in the outdoors skidooing, canoeing, swimming and riding ATV’s. Her dad taught her how to gut fish, taught her the Dene language and to live off the land, he fueled her love for nature.
She is survived by her loving husband Jonathon Pratt; son Jase Laliberte; her baby poodle Zeus; sister Krystle; brother Deo; grama Eileen; mother Sharyn; aunties Anne (Len), Kim (Patrick), Laurel (Kevin); uncles Morley and Tyler (Kelly); in additional to numerous grandparents, aunties, uncles, and cousins; the Laliberte’s and the Norton’s from Buffalo Narrows, SK; special sister Vanessa Kaye; special cousins Rachel, Raymond, Caje, and Rowan; special nieces Athena, Kalina and Yemoja, as well as many other cousins, nieces and nephews who all loved her.
