Marvin Engel

Marvin was born in Gravelbourg on July 27, 1954, the second son of Ewalt and Elsie Engel. He grew up on the family farm in the Woodrow area. Marvin went to school in Woodrow, high school in Lafleche and attended University of Regina and SIAST in Moose Jaw. He married Linda Travland in 1981.

Marvin worked for the Canada Revenue Agency as an auditor. He was dedicated to serving on the executive council for the local Union of Taxation Employees because he cared about fairness for his fellow employees. Unlike his older brother and cousins, Marvin was a Calgary Stampeder fan from a young age. He was a gentle person who enjoyed wood turning, watching sports, music, reading and savouring fine fresh brewed coffee. His three grandchildren brought him so much joy and entertainment.

Marvin was predeceased by his parents, Ewalt and Elsie Engel. He will be deeply missed by his wife Linda; son Derrick (Angela); daughter Stephanie (Anthony); three grandchildren Vaughn, Austin and Isabelle; brother Gailen (Denise); nieces, nephews and cousins.

His funeral service will take place on Monday February 26, 2024 at 11:00 at Broadway United Church, 105 Broadway Ave, Regina. The service will be live streamed on Zoom:
