Joan Marie Coffey was born in Lethbridge AB August 2nd, 1932. At the age of 14 her family moved to Vancouver. She was 19 when she joined the RCAF and was stationed in Trenton ON where she met her future husband Kenneth Moore from Penniac New Brunswick and later his very supportive family. She and Dad married in 1953 and had 54 years together. For 16 years and many moves they lived the Air Force life until they settled in Regina which became their permanent home. Mum worked at the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool for many years where she met lifelong friends (Ruth Jackson) and established relationships that lasted after retirement.
Mum’s love, focus and commitment was always directed to her family: daughter Pam and her husband Rob, daughter Karelle and her beloved grandsons Matthew (Celeste) Jon, Nick (Abi & family) and Tim (Breanne) and her special great-granddaughters: Shyla, Kehlina, Katie, Denziel and the newest gift, Charlee. We love her and will miss her more than words can say.
Her BC family, consisting of her surviving sister Carol Turriff, (deceased brothers Don, Tommy and Brian) their children and grandchildren, were a very important and much-loved part of Mum’s life.
