Daniel Kevin Deiter

Mathew 20:16

“So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.”

So fitting are these words for our beloved brother, Daniel Kevin Deiter, who rode into Christ’s Heavenly Kingdom this past week. Daniel’s name in Hebrew means, “God is my Judge.” A Father, Grandfather, Brother and Uncle. Daniel was a tradesman, an artist, a lover of horses, and a warrior for the lost. These are just a few qualities our late brother had, for Daniel was many things to many people. People would often say, “Dan is Dan.” And he was. Inside an often misunderstood and tough exterior, lay the most gentle and compassionate man who knew, only too well, the struggles of life and the traps and snares of this world. Daniel was a man of special insight and resilience. He was survivor and a loyal friend to those who knew him on the street, in the shelters, around the family table, and in the church. He was undeniably honest and his example was a lesson to us all on how to treat people, how to forgive, and give without any expectation. And his sense of humour was unmatched. Daniel had evolved into the very person our Lord and Savior shaped him to be. In the end, beyond all perception and sorrow, he touched all of our lives in many ways. He was no less. In fact, he was good enough for the Lord to take him in and say, “Ride with Me.” Today our brother rides freely with Jesus Christ’s heavenly army.

Daniel leaves behind his former partner Belinda Krienke (Brad); his children Ryan, Crystal, Stanley, Joseph, Evan, and his grandchildren Israelia, Carter, and Brayden. His siblings are Anthony (Jenny), Laura (Rene), Rosanne (Monty), and Mark. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Daniel is predeceased by his late parents, Lawrence Warren Deiter, and Gloria Rose Deiter (Brass).

He is loved and missed but not far from us all. We love you brother. Ride!

A public viewing will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 at Lee Funeral Home, 3101 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, Sk. With a Funeral Service to follow on the family homestead at Peepeekesis First Nation at 2:00 p.m.
