Jack Berry

This remarkable man was born in Walla Walla, Washington on December 14, 1928

To Muriel Dean Dysart and Ruth Ann Berry Dysart. Ruth Ann Berry died shortly after Jack’s birth of pneumonia. Jack was given up for adoption to his mother’s family members, Harriet Berry and Claude M. Berry on December 3, 1929. When his adoption was final, his name legally changed to Jack Berry.

Jack married the love of his life, Frances Penelope Nenson, on April 16th,1955. Jack & Frances were married for 54 years until her death on January 17, 2009.

The picture above is Jack with his dog, Buddy, a Mini Schnauzer taken a month before he died.

His passions were the love of flight, building his own Stinson airplane, and being a private pilot since 1949. Jack and Frances built their home together from the ground up in Kirkland in 1978. In 2000 they had to sell the home they built together and they purchased a home where he resided and enjoyed 22 years of friendship with his lovey neighbors. Jack loved to build model airplanes, loved old movies, and listening to his vinyl records and spending time with his dogs.

Jack worked in Aviation for 50 Years. In 1948 he Graduated J.M. Perry Technical Institute Yakima, Washington as an Aircraft & Engine (A&E) Mechanic.

1949-1951 United States Air Force Mechanic and Crew Chief. Jack was given an Honorable Discharge in 1954.

1951-1952 A&E Mechanic for Vandervert School of Flying, Spokane, WA. 100 Hr. inspection, and rebuilding aircraft and engine overhauls.

1952-1953 A & E Mechanic West Coast Airline. Worked on the DC-3 aircraft.

1953-1966 Boeing Aircraft Company. Delivery flight lines of the KC-97 and the B-52.

1966-1968 Collins Aircraft- Seattle, WA 100 hr. inspections -Beech & Piper Aircraft

1968 to 1998 Kenmore Air Harbor, Kenmore, WA Chief Inspector, and head Foreman.

The president of Kenmore Air writes, “Jack’s history with us has proven him to be extremely honest and reliable, a man of integrity in business as well as aviation.”

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother and sister, and his dog Rex.

You are invited to gather for a graveside service where Jack will be laid to rest next to his wife at Cedar Lawns Memorial Park on November 16, 2022, at 2:00 pm. His memorial service will follow at Epiphany Lutheran Church at 4:00 pm with memory sharing with refreshments after.
