Patricia Louise (Juettemeyer) Harrison, 82, of Shasta Lake, CA, and formerly of Navoo, IL, passed from her earthly life and into eternal life on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, surrounded by loved ones.
Patricia (a.k.a. Pat, Grandma Pat, GG, Aunt Patty) was born the daughter of Fred and Dorothy Schmidt Juettemeyer on June 29, 1941. She was a 1959 graduate of St. Mary’s Academy, then went on to graduate from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Burlington, IA. She was married to Kenneth Harrison, and together they had a daughter and four sons; they later divorced.
Pat was a lifelong nurse, even after retirement, taking care of multiple family members and friends in need. For many years, she was a volunteer through the Golden Umbrella Foster Grandparent Program in Shasta County, where today, hundreds of teens and young adults knew her affectionately as “Grandma Pat.” Pat also regularly volunteered at Mercy Medical Center in Redding, CA in the No One Dies Alone Program.
Pat was a devout Catholic and member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Shasta Lake, CA. Pat found much joy in the parish volunteer life and was involved in multiple ministries throughout her many years, where she: taught CCD and Bible study classes, served as an Eucharistic Minister to the sick, served as a Commentator and Lector, served on St. Michael’s Guild as a Secretary, was on the Hospitality Committee, volunteered with the Bazaar Ladies (fund raisers), helped with the St. Vincent de Paul Ministry, and made the arrangements for church retreats.
She lived a life in service and sacrifice to others in thanks for all that God had blessed her with. Even in death, she gave of herself as an organ donor.
She enjoyed living in northern California, where her family could regularly camp together, enjoying God’s creation and the loved ones He so graciously blessed her with. She was an excellent cook, loving to feed her large family whenever she got the chance. She was also a cat lover from a very young age.
Survivors include her daughter Renee Reeve (Andy) of Payson, AZ; son David Harrison (Yvonne) of Redding, CA; son Stephen Harrison (Tracy) of Colorado Springs, CO; son Daniel Harrison (Misty) of Shasta Lake, CA; son Mark Harrison (Diana) of Millville, CA; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; two sisters, Beth (Mickey) Knipe of Nauvoo, IL and Judy (Floyd) Krogmeier of Fort Madison, IA; one sister-in-law, Linda Juettemeyer of San Antonio, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Ruth Orth; and brother, Bernie Juettemeyer.
Cremation has been accorded. Services will be as follows on Saturday, October 28th: Rosary at 9:00 AM with a memorial mass to follow at 9:30 AM at St. Michael Catholic Church, 3440 Shasta Dam Blvd., Shasta Lake, CA 96019. Inurnment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Redding, CA, at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, c/o St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2040 Walnut Ave. Redding, CA 96001.
