Joyce Ellen Miller, daughter of Lois Annette Lindemood, and Leslie Bernard Miller, was born in San Diego and has one younger half sister born 1936 Bonnie Jean Peck. Joyce's grandfather William Henry Lindemood, lived to be 103. Joyce's grandmother, Stella Elizabeth Huff who died in 1953 of a heart attack.
Joyce went to El Cajon Valley High School, and graduated from Beauty College. At 18 years old, Joyce worked on a Convair B-36 Peacemaker aircraft. Doing electrical work on a plane, that was a top secret job, the workers were to know nothing about their work. After that job, she'd leave there to work for an assembly job packing pills. Her work history included being a licensed beautician, a waitress, a strawberry picker, as well as working in the sugarcane fields in Louisiana. Joyce's last working position for 17 years as a heavy crane operator for a cement plant.
She was a natural talent landscaper and it showed in every home she lived in. She especially had a love for animals of all kinds. Joyce dabbled in all mediums of art, and mastered them all.
At 22 years old in 1953 Joyce became a mother, having seven children, her last being born in 1965 at the age of 34. Joyce Ellen Reyes is survived by: Robert Bruce Vasseur, Sheila Ruth Edler, Les Moises Vasseur, Pamela Jean Berk, Stella Mae Vasseur, Angela Hope Tauriac, Joseph Henry Tauriac, and had 17 grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren as her legacy lives on.
