Herman L. Watson, 74 of Anderson, California, passed away on March 28, 2014 of natural causes.
The memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 12, 2014, at Lawncrest Memorial Chapel in Redding, California.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Friday, April 11, 2014 at Lawncrest.
A repast at the Second Baptist Church on 2560 Bunker Street will follow the memorial service.
Internment will be held in Seattle, WA at Abbey View Memorial Park on Wednesday, April 16th at 1:00 p.m.
Herman was born in Texarkana, TX on January 17, 1940.
He graduated in 1959 from Garfield High School in Seattle, WA, and worked in the construction industry as a cement mason the majority of his work career.
In Redding, he worked for the Shasta County Public Works department from which he retired.
Herman was an avid sportsman and loved being involved in his children's sport activities.
He also had a passion for collecting coins, antiques and serving his community.
Herman leaves to cherish his memory his daughters: Shyla Watson-Barker, Dana Watson (Kenneth) Zeumault, Aleta Watson-Chatman, and Jeanna Watson; his sons: Kenneth (Star Alfaro) Watson, Herman "Lonnie" (Joy) Watson, Jr., and Ryan Watson;
his sisters: Octavia Edwards, Kristine Adkins, and Clara Watson-LaFayette; his brother: William Palmer of San Antonio, TX;
eight grandchildren: Andre Watson, Matthew Watson, Alana Curtis, Tyson Watson, Tyler Watson, Emmitt Watson, Gabriel Watson and Herman Watson III; two great-grandchildren: Aaliyah Watson and Prince Isaiah Watson; plus a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
