Gary was my best friends dad, who made me feel as though I also was one of his children. When you walked into his home you could just feel this uplifting spirit. I could talk to him about anything from bug bites to relationship advice and he always found a way to end our conversations with a prayer. I can't count how many times I called Alanna asking for the office number to call Gary, and as busy as he was he always found time for me. I remember one time I just stop by and I don't know if you remember but Gary always had a stash of Raley's Gift Cards no matter the time of the year. I would just be walking out the door from having lunch with Alanna and he'd stop me and stick it in my hand like he knew times where rough. He always took care of us girls even though he didn't have to. Ohh so much more I could say. RIP Gary Langan

Gary Langan was by far the best kind of friend anyone could ask for. When i was young and on a bad path, Gary showed me the straight and narrow, gave me work and shelter and became like a dad and best friend. The most beautiful part is that Gary's heart was open to everyone! Not just silly me. His impact was not limited to a handful of lucky people but is an impact on the the world. . . truely. Like a pebble dropped in a pond, Gary started some ripples that keep getting bigger. I want to say thank you to Gary. . but every single time i did that, He would stop me and remind me, "Don't thank me sugar, I am nothing but a man" and i'd argue. . saying he was a great man at least and so on. Gary would shake his head and close his eyes, pointing his finger up and up and up. saying "I'm just a vessel for His will."  . . It's true. . So I thank Our LORD for a friend like that. I know he's up there dancing with Melody surrounded by unbounded colors and love. Congratulations Gary, you completed your tasks! You made it home. . . But I will miss you until I see you again.

A wonderfully kind man, who always had a cheerful smile and greeting whenever you saw him. I will be forever grateful that you were there when Carly needed fatherly advice and guidance.  Both you and Melody - inspirations to us all! RIP Gary.

Gary is a friend I never met. I'm a friend of Melody's family. Melody and I went to school together from 7th grade through high school. All things being equal, Gary ..you were a lucky man to be surrounded by such a loving family..., the legacy of Gary and Melody Langan will live on through an amazing, loving family.

Our family was so blessed to have got to spend a part of our lives with Gary. Usually it's the "wife" that changes the man, but in this case it was my brothers father in law that changed him. He was such a good influence on him and taught him so much. He was always someone who would take the time to listen to you, good news, bad news, if you needed advice he was more than willing to lend an ear and a word without judgment or criticism. The last time I saw Gary was at the Golly Giant Flea Market, in Redding, CA....I was there selling stuff to go to Egypt and he bought a soccer ball and some other things, plus he gave my two daughters money to go get something for themselves and gave me some extra. Even when I told him no...he insisted and would not take it back. Everyone had an opinion on my decision, but Gary just wished me good luck, safety and said he'd miss us. I have never known anyone in my life who was so selfless, so generous and so just and fair...So even though I only knew him for a few years, he touched my life in great ways and helped me find what I needed to make me happy (God)....and I thank him and thank God for him. Alanna and Matt, Trinity and Dakota...he loved you guys so much and your brother and his family....remember always the love and support and I know he's probably still offering that now, just in a different way.

I had only known Gary for the past seven or so years, but what a blessing he was to us all.  The times we shared at the luaus in the back yard of his place and being there when the grandkids were born and we were the first to see Dakota when Matt wheeled him out of the delivery room. Gary and I both with our cameras aimed and ready for those first pictures. Gary introduced me to poi before I ever got the chance to go to Hawaii.  He was a spiritual mentor to my son Matt and I will miss his smile and so will all the grandkids. Thank you Gary for giving me a lovely daughter in-law whom I love like my own kids. I love and miss you Gary and look forward to seeing you again when the Lord calls me home to him.

I only knew you for a short time but every time I was around you, you had a smile on your face and awesome sense of humor.  I loved your fun loving attitude and trademark Hawaiian Shirt and Hat. I always looked forward to your luaus and poker nights.  You were impossible to play against in poker because you always went all in and no one could tell if you had a hand or not so it was frightening to call. The kids always loved going to Papa's house and I could see how much your grandkids loved you.  You gave me a good example of love, caring and generosity  to live by and you will be missed.

Being the first born, I’ve had the privilege of watching our family one by one come to embrace the greatest gift God ever gave man.  It is the ability to choose where they would spend eternity. We all understand our days are numbered, but life with its ups and downs sometimes crowds our minds from the most important things.

Even though 12 years separated Gary and me from a lot of his childhood experiences, being with him for the most important ones more than made up for it.  I know the love of his life was Melody, Brent and Alanna.  His respect and love for our parents, the extreme joy he had with his grandkids, the beautiful bond of love for all the family was the best expression of his life.

Gary shared his desire to keep Brent and Teresa close by working with him and with Alanna living next door they completed him.

I also knew that Gary had mentored friends of Alanna's like a father, sharing his faith and advice.  With the loss of Melody and then Dad, Gary grieved as we all do.  Now the scriptures say we will not grieve as those who have no hope. (I Th 4:13) This is part of healing.  

The family Luau or reunions we’ve all shared each year opened my eyes to the sweet bond between Gary and our son Ron that had developed from childhood.  The thoughts of the reunion in heaven Gary will have with my brother Ronnie Joe, Dad, our Grandparents all sharing, bless me.  The heavens will ring with Gary’s laughter.  My heart is filled with gratitude for I know this is just the beginning. Life goes on but our memories are for now.

 There is a special place, deep in my heart, where only my most precious loved ones abide. These people have shown truths, and God’s love. With an ability to break my stubborn pride, see beyond my faults, and challenge my faith, they leave an indelible stamp on my life forever. 
My brother was one of those people. As we shared our lives together through, Del Mar, Whittier and Trinity, we formed a close bond. 
I was with him the day he first met Melody. My husband and I double dated w/ them, rejoiced at their wedding and later their family, as Brent and Alanna were born. 
Brother and I shared many hours talking on Trinity Ranch and after my Gary went to be with the Lord, we would call each other often and encourage each other.
 I will miss him everyday that is left in my life.
 His warmth, his wonderful laughter and his essence leave a hole here on earth. I know someday I will see him again and hear him say, “Hi Sis!” I’ll hug him, sing with him and share eternity. 
My loss is great but my memories are so sweet, and God’s promise is my joyful hope. I’m warmed by the knowledge that brother is not alone. More important, I’m really glad that Dad and my Gary are up there with him-- somebody just needs to warn Jesus about that electric chair!

As a little boy I Idolized my Uncle Gary.  He was 8 years older and I thought he knew everything. I followed him around and everything he did facinated me.  In 50 years that That didn't change much.  
I cherish all the times we had and will really miss spending vactions with him and getting ready for the Luaus. 
He is loved by all his family and friends because he did  know everything that was really important. He was generous with all he had especially his heart.  
I'm only sad that I have to wait to see him again.to

You were such a wonderful man, I am a better person for knowing you.  I wish I could tell you thank you for everything you have done for, not only me, but everyone and anyone who needed anything.  I wouldn't be the woman I am today if you hadn't always been there to listen and support me.  You will be so missed, you are so loved and you will be remembered forever.

My relatives all live very far away, so luckily your niece, Aundrea, let me adopt all of her relatives as mine.  I will always remember tagging along with your family and how everyone always made me feel at home.  Some of my best childhood summers involved us all.  I know your famiy will keep your spirit alive.  The love you were surrounded with on the day you passed is the love that we all hope to attain when that day comes for us.  Thank you for being a part of some of my favorite memories.

Uncle Gary, I am so proud to have known you.  Your guidance, wisdom, and humor will remain with me always.  I loved all the vacations our families took together, and staying at your house for weeks at a time during the summer.  Those are memories I will cherish forever.  Thankful that we were able to spend some time together, while you held MY hand, towards the very end of your beautiful life. Thank you for being there for me for everything.  You will be sorely missed, but not forgotten.  "I love you so so much."

Gary, I only got to be a part of your life for a short 7 years but the wisdom you taught me I shall use for a lifetime. The respect you showed me the trust you gave me in taking care of your daughter and grand kids is one of the many reasons I respected your opinions. If I needed anything you found a way to get it and if that didn't work we prayed about it. I miss bantering with you, the laughter we shared and the many hours spent working on your backyard. So i bid you farewell with a heavy heart and say Aloha and see you when it is my time to be called home by Jesus. I love you.

Gary, my mentor, my friend, my childs other Dad, my commrade in the MC for the kids weddings. Gary and Melody have always been mentors to me in the parenting world. I have always looked up to BOTH of them and their relationship they had with ALL of our daughters. Alanna, Laurel, Carly and Regina. They taught our kids so much. And gave them something to look to forward and up to. I will not only miss Gary, but, his laugh, his positiveness, his strength, his genuine LOVE for his family and friends. His ability to keep Melody around us. Gary and Mel will ALWAYS be in our hearts as some of the GREATEST people we, have been, the most fortunate to know. Love ALWAYS!! Scott and Julie Sisco
