Beryl resided and raised her family in Burney from 1946 with her husband Willie (Pete). After Pete’s passing she moved to Redding in December of 1983.
She pursued numerous careers throughout her life and retired on her 80th birthday from the Foster Grandparent Program.
Beryl played alto saxophone with numerous dance bands in the 1950’s and 1960’s. Later in life she was a member of the (Joyful Noise) musical group of Redding, playing at many churches and senior rest homes. She had a life long love for music.
She was a member of the Burney Presbyterian Church and the First Christian Church of Redding, singing in their choir’s for 50 years.
Beryl was a loving mother of Cheryl Swisher (Les) and Cliff Peterson (Glinda); proud grandmother of five grandsons, Scott, Robert, Canen, Jason and Nathan; adoring great grandmother of 10, lovingly referring to all as (grammies lambies). She is also survived by her sister Florence Faggella and six nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Pete, parents Carolyn McKenzie and Sydney Beard as well as her brothers’ John and Syd.
