What a special lady Grandma Belle was!!  It didn't take long after meeting her that she concidered you family!!  She was loved so much!!  I am so thankful I got the chance to know her!!

Sherry, Stevie and families. My heart hurts for your loss but also is happy that Grandma Belle is with your mom and my mom!  You know our mom's were laughing and carrying on awaiting Belles arrival! Peace be with you all as you grieve the loss of your grandma. Please know, we are sending LOVE and hugs! :-)

December 7, 2016 I gave my Grandma one last kiss and said "I will see you later in heaven Grandma." She will not feel any more pain and not be in fear. Alzheimer's took her mind but I have peace knowing God has her soul. It warmed my heart to have all her nurses come in and tell me stories about  Grandma while I sat and held her hand...how she blessed their lives these past 2 1/2 years while she was a resident at Oak River.
I have so many wonderful memories with Grandma...from childhood camping trips to memories of Grandma living with us in her final years. Not only was Grandma a strong courageous woman, she was also a kind loving person as well. She was always helping people when she could. Whether it was donating blood, helping someone pay their rent or giving them money to put food on their table. Grandma had outlived all her children, husband and most her friends. I take comfort knowing while I am shedding tears with her being gone, I know Grandma is hugging all her loved ones. It has truly been an honor to be her granddaughter.
I'd like to thank everyone for all your love, prayers and kind words through Grandma's journey. I'd especially like to thank Grandma's Oak River Facility family and Hospice Team. You took great care of Grandma and kept her comfortable as possible.

Auntie Belle was my Grandmother's sister.  My memories of her are priceless.  As a little girl when we would drive to her and Uncle Jim's house; there were two hills in the road, and we would beg our parents to drive fast, so we could have the feeling of losing our stomachs as we drove over these hills.  Auntie Belle and Uncle Jim spent a lot of time on Shasta Lake in the years of the 60's, for Uncle Jim was a boat patrolman on the lake.  I remember the big siren that was on his boat, and we would beg him to sound it for us.  I can also remember the geese that they raised; because the gander would always chase us little kids.  My sister and I would love to play in the back bedroom of Auntie Belle's house.  She was a great seamstress, and we loved playing with all of her sewing things; like the dress makers form, and her hemming marker, playing that we were making dresses.  It was as great as playing post office in the upstairs of our Grandma's house.  Auntie Belle was strong and valiant in spirit, fore; she had to be.  She buried her young daughter Carolyn at the age of nine, then her son Jimmy in a industrial crane accident, before he was able to become a father, her husband Uncle Jim, and then her daughter Marilyn.  Therefore; her whole immediate family had left this mortal life before her, leaving her with two Grandchildren from Marilyn, Sherry and Steven and their children, and a second generation of great grand children.  It takes a very strong person to do this, and keep your focus and wits in life, totally in tack.  Auntie Belle was able to accomplish this.  She spent her last years at Oak River Rehab due to Alzheimer's disease and no memory.  Learning of the stories shared; I think she had a mission there also, for she was able to love and be loved by many of the people she lived around each day.  I know in my heart, a very valiant lady, walked through the gates of Heaven this day, and is having the greatest family reunion of her lifetime.  I know our families are eternal, and it will be our turn to join them one day, when God's call; is our name.
