Betty was born on February 26th, 1955 in Bronx, New York to Marina Rodriguez and Pablo Montes, where she spent most of her life before moving to Rio Grande, Puerto Rico, with her husband and two youngest daughters. Once losing her husband to cancer, she uprooted and moved to Red Bluff, California.
Betty devoted nearly two decades to supporting students in the classroom as a paraeducator. Her unwavering commitment to helping children learn and grow made her a cherished member of Metteer Elementary. With her gentle spirit and patient nature, she created a nurturing environment that fostered both academic and personal success.
Betty was a devout Catholic and an active member of her church community. She was deeply committed to her faith and found solace and strength in her spiritual beliefs. Her unwavering faith guided her through life and inspired those around her.
Although she was a mother, she was so much more than that. Her resilience, intrapersonal strength, and empathetic heart, are some of the key elements of her that will always be with us. There weren't many times that we saw her unhappy. No matter what challenges she faced. She showed us that having a positive attitude and giving a warm hug can make all a difference in someone's day.
We have so many fond memories of our mother, from showing us old hollywood classics, such as An Affair to Remember. Her gushing about Paul Newman, and her salsa dancing on holidays to Hector Lavoe and her absolute favorite, Marc Anthony.
Betty Montes is survived by her eldest daughter, Alicia, Paula Marina, and her grandson, Joshua Raymond.
