Robert Joseph "Bob" Holland, 68, of Lower Alsace Twp., passed away peacefully in the Reading Hospital with his family by his side. He was the loving husband of Sharon V. (George) Holland. Bob was born in Reading on April 26, 1946, a son of the late Jon Joseph and Florence (Leibrock) Holland.
He was a 1964 graduate of Reading High School. Bob joined the US Army on November 29, 1965 and served during the Vietnam War. He was Honorably Discharged on September 10, 1967 earning a SPS Rifle Badge. Bob was employed with Home Depot on Perkiomen Ave. and worked with the Pack Down Team for 11 years. Prior to that, he was employed with United Computer Supply in shipping and receiving. Bob enjoyed spending time with his family and walking his dogs, Oates and Sage.
In addition to his wife, Sharon, Bob is survived by two daughters, Terri Slusser and her husband, Rick of Lititz and Stacey (Moore) Row of Exeter Twp.; five grandchildren: Megan, Mallory, Ryan, Samantha and Tyler; a brother, John Holland of Milford, DE; two sisters, Carol Lotz and her husband, Carl of Reading and JoAnn Curtain of Westminster, MA and several nieces and nephews. Bob is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Chuck Holland.
A funeral service and prayers will be said at 12 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2014 in Auman's Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reading, PA 19606.
