

Patricia Louise DeTemple, 89, of Reading, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at her residence on April 16, 2025. Born on July 23, 1935, in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Florence (Schaffer) Goerner.
Patricia graduated from Reading High School in 1954 and went on to live a full and meaningful life surrounded by family, hard work, and unwavering dedication. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Norman W. DeTemple.
A devoted mother, Patricia is survived by her two daughters: Pam Daniels, wife of Robert Daniels and Joy Umberger, wife of Robert Umberger. She was a proud grandmother to Erin Smith, Robert Umberger II, and Janine Gurtowski, and a loving great-grandmother to Dion, Kaeden, Brinley, Emma, Darla (deceased) and Charlie.
Patricia is survived by her siblings Thomas Goerner, husband of Chris, and sister Kathy; she was predeceased by her brothers Stanley and John.
Patricia spent many years working as a dedicated produce clerk at the Fairgrounds Farmers Market in Reading. She also spent a portion of her career working in banking and served as an assistant manager at Acme.
A lifelong fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, Patricia rarely missed a game and proudly wore her team colors. She also loved spending time at the beach, where she found peace and joy.
Services will be held at Auman’s Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W Neversink Rd, Reading, PA 19606 on Tuesday, April 22nd at 11:00 AM. A viewing will take place from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A committal service will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park.
