Donald Lee Batz

Donald Lee Batz, 68, of Williamsburg, VA, formerly of Reading, passed unexpectedly on Friday, September 5, 2014 in Riverside Doctors Hospital in Williamsburg, VA. He was the loving husband of Audrey (Butros) Batz.

Born in Reading on January 6, 1946, he was a son of the late Forrest and June Batz. He was employed with the Office of the Attorney General, Bureau of Narcotics Investigation and he retired in 1995. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of the Police.

Donald enjoyed playing with his dog, Oscar and electronics but most of all; he loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, Audrey; Donald is survived by three sons: Robert and his wife Dana Batz of St. John, IN, Donnie and his wife Ashley Batz of Raleigh, NC and Michael and his wife, Sherri Batz of Leadville, CO; a daughter: Janelle Batz of Williamsburg, VA; and two grandchildren: Noah and Aden.

Also surviving is his brother: Gene and his wife, Barb Batz of Reading and sister: Lydia (Batz) and her husband, Joe Daniels of West Lawn.

A funeral service for Donald will be at 12pm on Thursday, September 11, 2014 in Auman’s Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reading, PA 19606. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home Thursday from 10am to 12pm. Donald will be laid to rest in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reading.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association, 610 Community Way, Lancaster, PA 17603 in memory of Donald Lee Batz.
