Carolyn Smith

Born in Coward, South Carolina, on May 23, 1947, she was a daughter of the late Willie and Nether Lee (Frison) Davis.

She married her childhood sweetheart, Eugene Smith on December 9, 1967, who preceded his wife in death on June 26, 2006. To this union was born one daughter, Nanette L. Smith, who preceded her parents in death on January 16, 2002. She was also preceded in death by her baby sister Sue Ellen (Davis) Powers, special brother-in-law Tyrone H. Powers Sr., and her God-daughter Constance Sims.

Carolyn accepted the lord at an early age and attended Union Baptist Church until 2012 with her family. She later began attending Glad Tidings Assemblies of God.

Carolyn enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking homemade meals, watching Westerns and Law & Order, playing bingo and card games, as well as traveling to the casino. She also loved listening to music and visiting the record store weekly.

She was educated in the Reading School District and was employed for 40 years as a line inspector by Dalloz Safety Products, retiring in 2007.

Carolyn leaves to cherish her memory her brother William Davis (Sharon) of Exeter, PA; her four God-children Michelle Buford, Giani Clarke, Kimberly Clarke (Gregory), and Tasha Isaac; her special nieces Teressa Clarke, Devonne Lindsey, and Alexis Pettis; her special nephews Jason Davis, John Davis, Scott Laub, and Tyrone H. Powers Jr. (Ingrid); her four great-nieces Kymari Clarke, Unique Davis, Jakaila Mustafa, and Laila Powers; her great-nephews Elijah Davis, Isaac Davis, Demetrius Lindsey (Kristina), Tyrone H. Powers III, and Nils Powers; her great-great niece Laila Lindsey; her great-great-nephew Demetrius Lindsey Jr.; her special friends Shona, Bonnie, Patricia, Janeen, Gloria, Carla, Lorraine, Cassandra, and Linda; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Services will be Thursday, June 30, 2022, at 10 a.m. at Theo C. Auman Funeral Home in Reading, PA. Burial will be in Berks County Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
