Anthony A. Romani, 81, of Reading, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at Reading Hospital - Tower Health. Born November 28, 1940 in Reading, he was the son of the late Mariano Romani and Mary Jane (Ciliberti) Amatucci and stepson of Nazerano Amatucci.
Anthony was a graduate of Reading High School, class of 1960. He dedicated 27 years of service to the Reading Area Water Authority, until his retirement in the year 2000. Anthony was also a school bus driver for many years for the Reading School District and for Van Lear Equipment serving Muhlenberg School District. Additionally, he was a member of St. Margaret Roman Catholic Church and served on the board of Wodenschiere Country Club where he devoted his time every summer to open and close the pool for the season.
Anthony was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, boating and golfing. He was a die hard Yankees fan that enjoyed attending games, playing cards, model trains, italian food, watching westerns, especially John Wayne movies, and vacationing in the Outer Banks.
Anthony will be remembered by his family and friends for his wit, charm, persistence and outgoing personality. He had a very curious mind and loved to talk - he never met a stranger he couldn't enjoy a conversation with. He will be sorely missed by all blessed enough to have known him.
Left to treasure Anthony’s memories are his loving wife of 54 years, Nancy J. (Hinz) Romani; his daughter Lisa M. Romani, of Johnstown, CO; his son Michael A. Romani, of Washington, D.C.; his 4 siblings Antoinette (Amatucci) Retter, Peter Amatucci, Nazerano Amatucci, and James Amatucci. Anthony was predeceased by his sister, Angelina Amatucci.
