William Lee Cramer, Sr. “Bill,” 75, of Brimfield, OH, passed away suddenly on May 22, 2022, after a period of declining health. He was born in Akron, OH, on January 13, 1947, to the late Warren “Moon” Cramer, Jr. and Ida Belle (Hathaway) Cramer.
Bill grew up in Suffield, Ohio and lived all his life in the area. He graduated from Field High School in 1965, where he participated in numerous sports and made life-long friendships. Soon after graduating, Bill began his career as an elevator mechanic with Otis Elevator, rarely missing a day of work in 45 years in the industry.
Bill loved sports, especially the Indians and Browns, and never missed a football game of his son and grandsons. He could often be found on a golf course, a casino or working on a new project at the house. Bill loved Christmas and spent weeks making his house “light up the neighborhood”. His favorite part though, was the Christmas Eve family get together with his children and grandchildren, watching with a big grin and ready with a joke. Although he did not always express it, he loved his family dearly and was very proud of the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren. His many jokes, his funny stories, and even his endless political views are the memories that will be cherished by family and friends.
He will be dearly missed by his wife of almost 57 years, Donna (Brautigam) Cramer, whom he married on June 21, 1965. He will also be missed by his children William L. Cramer, Jr. (Lynn), Kelly Gillman (Russ) and Kerry Klodt (Larry). He leaves behind 10 grandchildren: Jaron Cramer, Molly Morrissey (Sam), Kyle Cramer (Lauren), Paige Rowe, Blake Rowe, Jacob Cramer (Haley), Joey Cramer, Clay Gillman, Luke Cramer, and Reilee Gillman. He also leaves special great-granddaughter Raelyn Cramer and 5 others- Avery, Quinn, Sam, Liam, and Kelyn. Also surviving is his sister, Kathy Goe (Ray) of Winter Haven, FL, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no formal services. A Celebration of Life will take place at the VFW Post 8487, 385 Randolph Rd., Mogadore on Saturday, July 2, 1-4 p.m.
