Wayne H. Wise

Wayne was born to parents Howard and Gladys (Batsch) Wise in Barberton, Ohio on April 5, 1931. Wayne was a U.S. Marine veteran, serving during the Korean War conflict. After serving, he enjoyed a long career as a purchasing agent for Colonial Rubber in Ravenna, retiring after 38 years of service.

Wayne was a long-time parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church and enjoyed socializing at the American Legion in Ravenna. In his spare time, he liked golf, fly-fishing and ballroom dancing with his wife. Most important to him was his loving family and grandchildren and loved watching his grandkids play baseball.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 68 years, Rita (Gowdy) and his children Mike (Yvonne) Wise and Diane Tyo. He is also survived by his grandchildren Justin Wise, Leslie Bilby, Shaun Tyo and great-grandchildren Lilly Tyo and Carter Bilby.

His parents, his daughter Susan Wise and his granddaughter Noelle Fucci, preceded him in death.

Friends will be received at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 from 6pm until 8pm. Mass of Christian Burial, officiated by Rev. William Kraynak, will be held at 10am on Wednesday, November 13 at Immaculate Conception Church, 409 W. Main St., Ravenna. Interment will follow at Standing Rock Cemetery.
