Born in Minneapolis, Minn. July 20, 1914 Virginia passed away on March 13, 2011.
After the early death of her mother, she made her home with Frank and Myrtle Adams. She married John Stahl, former classmate and graduate of Stow High and an employee of BF Goodrich. They enjoyed 60 years together before his death in 1997.
Virginia was a retired teacher, spending happy years teaching in Hinckley where she won the Freedom’s Foundation Award for Teachers. She was an artist, a poet, and a writer of Early American History. She entertained with her Omni chord and song. She loved church and was previously active in Eastern Star.
She is survived by her son, John R. Stahl and his wife, Barbara; her daughter Karen Ball and husband, Joseph; her daughter Rebecca Mays and her husband, Stan; and by six grandchildren; Michael, Joseph, James, Kenneth, Brian and Julie. She is also survived by 3 great-grandchildren: Forest, Sapphire, and Braylon.
A memorial service will be held at 3:15 PM on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at Birch Hall of Stow-Glen Retirement Village, 4285 Kent Road, Stow. The service will be officiated by Pastor Kim Barnett of Stow-Glen.
Private graveside services will be conducted at Oakwood Cemetery.
