Susan was preceded in death by her sister Laura Webb, brother-in-law Kenneth Webb, and her parents Robert and Susan Crites. Susan is survived by her husband of 50 years, Kenneth F. Longsdorf; four children Jonathon Longsdorf (Mary Kay McDaniel), Melissa Longsdorf, Mary Longsdorf Schoon (Josh Schoon), and Joshua Longsdorf (Chelsea McGowan) and five siblings Linda Wilson (Crites), Robert Crites, Kathleen Crites, Michael Crites, and Matthew Crites.
Sue had a calling to life as an LPN helping to bring babies into the world for over 30 years at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna, OH. Her beautiful hands and heart displayed her love for Jesus through her tender care towards her husband, children, and friends. She loved to be surrounded by her family especially her grandchildren Jacob and Joey Centers, Ethan Schoon, Jaxon Longsdorf, Kyran Longsdorf, Josiah Schoon, Justus Schoon, and Lydian Longsdorf. There was always time for a fresh bag of chips, cookies, and a sweet game of Yahtzee with her kiddos.
Susan called her home on Sunnywood Lane her earthly castle and a gift from God. Stepping into her earthly castle is where you would be greeted with a safe cozy space ready for tender conversations around the dining room table with an endless supply of coffee and creamer.
On occasion the neighbors may have seen Sue wave her family off from the front door in her housecoat. It was important to her that her family and friends knew they were a great joy and blessing from God to her. She prayed daily with her morning coffee for her husband, kids, and extended family and friends. Her prayers always included the Lord keep them safe, draw them near, and help them through life’s troubles.
She loved to play the piano. One of her greatest joys was being the music director for her church family at Zion Lutheran church. She always considered the piano at church to be her special corner as she carried out her love for Jesus through the gift of song.
To know Susan was to know genuine kindness and warmth. Even in her final days she expressed thankfulness to her family, friends, neighbors, and church. She wanted you all to know how much she appreciated your kindness and support to her and her family especially during her journey.
