Ronald was born January 8, 1938 in Lorado, West Virginia, to Holden H. Bailey and Ruby E. (Osborne) Bailey. He was a great son, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother and will be dearly missed by all who loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Holden and Ruby (Osborne) Bailey, father-in-law, Fred Lusk, mother-in-law, Omie (Gibson) Lusk. Brothers, Alfred, Lacy, Jason, Billy Ray, Nelson, Wetzel, and Ted. Sister-in-laws Mollie “Liddie” Bailey, Janice Juanita Bailey, Lucy Bailey, Charlotte Sue Bailey and Nellie Bailey. Daughter Ellen Sue (Bailey) Springston, granddaughters, Krista Sue Springston, Jamie Marie Bailey, great grandson David Dale Wilfong.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Vera (Lusk) Bailey, sons, David (Lori), Ronald Jr, (Deanna) and son-in-law Mitchell Springston. Grandchildren Melissa Springston, Crystal Springston, Jessica Smith, Ronnie Bailey III, Jenna Bailey, Derrec Bailey and Brandyn Bailey. Great Grandchildren, Lexxie Wilfong, Dakota Wilfong, Aiden Springston, Cameron Smith, Ronnie Bailey IV. Brothers, Ullie Lovell Bailey and Warren Jay (Barb) Bailey.
Ronald worked cutting timber for the coal mines with his father in his teens and in 1956 moved to Cleveland and got a job at Lakeside Steel Improvements, he later got a job at Terex in Hudson Oh. Then at General Motors where he retired from Lordstown in 2000. Ronald loved to garden and grow tomatoes and green beans. He was a good carpenter and woodworker. He enjoyed country music, especially Bluegrass, squirrel and deer hunting and family get togethers.
Family and friends will be received Thursday, August 24, 2023, from 12:00 - 1:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, where funeral services will be officiated by Pastor Tommie Nicholas at 1:00 PM. A small luncheon will follow after the services at the funeral home. Interment will follow the luncheon at Restland Cemetery in Brimfield, Ohio.
