Roger McPherson

He was born October 26, 1946, in Confluence, Pennsylvania, to parents Lloyd and Betty (Lytle) McPherson. Roger proudly served his country as a veteran of the US Marine Corps in the Vietnam War. He later became a life member of American Legion Post 331 and VFW Post 1055, where he served as a Post Commander.

Roger was a faithful member of Victory Baptist Church. He served as a deacon at the church and would also sing with his wife Dolores. Roger had a fondness for flea markets and yard sales, always looking for a good deal. He retired from Kent Elastomer Products after many years of employment.

Roger is survived by his beloved wife Dolores (Dawson) McPherson, who he married April 19, 1979. He is also survived by his son Rob (Amy) McPherson, his step-children: Susan (Bill) Kruis and Dennis Babareka, his grandchildren: Hannah and Helen McPherson and Cristy (Denney) Sherman, as well as his great-grandchildren: Alex (Paige) Dvorak, Ashley Dvorak, and Samantha Cavanaugh. His memory will also be cherished by his brothers: Lloyd (Mary) McPherson, Joseph (Connie) McPherson, and Warren McPherson, his sisters Patricia (Cecil) Moore and Luella “Kay” (Kenny) Friend, along with generations of loving nieces and nephews.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, his step-mother Margaret McPherson, his step-daughter Kathy Babareka, his grandson Phillip Kruis, and his sister Dorothy Carpenter.

Friends and family will be received Wednesday, June 15, 2022, from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM with funeral services officiated by Pastor John Angle at 12:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna. Interment will follow with full military honors at Evergreen Cemetery in Streetsboro.
