Robert W. Steinmetz Jr.

He was born December 1, 1937, in Bedford, Ohio, to parents Kathryn Louise (Spindler) and Robert W. Steinmetz Sr.

Robert proudly served his country as a member of the US Navy. He lived many years in Louisiana, where he enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Family was always first in Robert’s life. On December 21, 1957, he married his beloved Margaret Marie McVay, and together they raised three children.

Robert is survived by his wife Margaret Steinmetz, son Robert E. Steinmetz, daughter Tammy (Bill) Bobbs, grandchildren: Jon Crane, Erin (Jeff) Elbon, Chasity Bobbs, Tristen Steinmetz, and Kayla Steinmetz, as well as his great-grandchildren: Dixie, Dakota, Maddy, and Callie, and his brother Thomas (Helen) Steinmetz along with many loving nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, his son Perry Wayne Steinmetz, and his sisters Betty June Wiseman and Donna Vanas.

Robert’s wishes for cremation are being honored. Friends and family will be received Friday, December 6, 2019, from 10:00 – 11:00 AM with a memorial service officiated by Pastor David Ballert at 11:00 AM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna.
