She was born April 14, 1917, in Ellet, Ohio, to parents Fred and Mayme May. Rita graduated from St. Joseph School in 1931 and from Randolph High School in 1935. She was a member of St. Joseph Parish, Altar Society, and former member of the church choir. Rita was very active in her community, volunteering at Robinson Memorial Hospital, serving as a committee woman for the Democratic Party, and as a former superintendent of camping at the Portage County Fair. Rita loved cooking, crafts, and playing cards. Most of all, Rita was devoted to her family.
She is survived by her husband: John C. Wise; children: Doris (Andy) Hughart of Michigan, Bruce Kline of Randolph, and Keith (Debbie) Kline of Florida; sisters: Mary Jane (Harold) Kline and Shirley (Raymond) Rodenbucher; and brother: Donald (Dolly) May. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Rita was preceded in death by her former husband Raymond L. Kline, daughter Carol Kerr, sons Larry Kline and Dale Kline, brothers Glen May and Leon May, and her parents Fred and Mayme May.
Friends will be received Monday, August 26, 2013, from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend Thomas Acker S.J. at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 27, 2013, at St. Joseph Church, 2643 Waterloo Rd., Randolph. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
