He was born June 1, 1939, in Wheeling, West Virginia, a son of the late George and Gladys (Kirkbridge) Turner. Richard grew up in the Barnesville area and was employed at US Steel.
Richard was a veteran of the US Air Force, and later joined the American Legion Post 331 and the VFW.
Survivors include his beloved wife: Georgia (Lamb) Turner; his sons: John B. Turner and Richard L. Turner Jr.; his sister: Carol White; his step-children: Juanita, Eric, and Chuck Stockdale; also survived by many loving grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Friends will be received on Monday, April 26, 2010, from 4:00 PM until the 6:00 PM funeral service at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, OH 44266.
