Richard was born in Akron, Ohio on April 14, 1953 to parents Carl E. McCulty and Lucille (Bever) McCulty. He graduated from Waterloo High School with the class of 1971. He was an over-the-road truck driver and went on to enjoy a career as the owner and operator of Wil-Hunt Express that he named after his grandchildren Wilson and Hunter. Richard was the proud owner and enjoyed his 1969 Camaro and his 1952 Farmall tractor, similar to the one he had growing up. His grandchildren were a large part of his life and he loved watching them participate in sports.
Richard is survived by his wife Eva Irene (Camp) McCulty and his daughter Angela Denise (Jason M.) Silveus. He also leaves his beloved grandchildren: Wilson, Hunter, Bryson, Boston and Paxson. Surviving also is his brother Gerald Wayne (Deborah L.) McCulty.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Michael E. McCulty.
Friends will be received at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 from 11:00am until the funeral service beginning at 1:00pm. Interment will follow at Deerfield Cemetery.
The family would appreciate memorial contributions in his name be made to the American Cancer Society.
