Richard Barnes

He was born in Akron, Ohio to parents Garland and Wilma (Girnstein) Barnes. Richard was a long-time Ravenna resident and retired truck driver. He was proud veteran of the US Air Force. Richard was active in the Ravenna Church of the Nazarene where he enjoyed his time serving on the church board and singing in the choir.

Richard liked collecting eagles and was an avid Cleveland Indians fan. He loved taking many cruises with his wife Mary, but most of all loved his children and grandchildren.

Richard is survived by his children Richard “Rick” (Robin) Barnes, Shelly Dawson and Teri (Kenny) Willis. Left also are his beloved 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mary Barnes, grandson Robert G. Barnes and great-grandson Garrett Archambault.

Family will receive friends at the Ravenna Church of the Nazarene, 3284 Brady Lake Rd., Ravenna, on Saturday, June 15, 2024 from 10am until the 11am funeral service, officiated by Pastor Tracy Ogden-Johnson. Interment will immediately follow at Grandview Memorial Park.
