Marion was born August 24, 1921 in Ravenna, OH and graduated from Ravenna High School. Upon graduation, she worked for Traveler’s Aid. Marion then married and became a homemaker. After 18 years of marriage, she found herself raising three children on her own. She qualified for working as a Stenographer/Secretary for Kent State University where she retired after 25 years of service.
As a dedicated baptized member of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Marion worked in the door-to-door ministry. When she couldn’t walk anymore, she wrote letters to the community to support her faith. She was an artistic and creative seamstress. Marion sewed clothes for herself and her children.
As an active member of the PTA, she organized a fashion show using elementary students as models. Her family enjoyed her excellent home style cooking. Marion worked daily on craft projects and created beautiful paper baskets.
She is survived by her sister, Dorothy, her son David and will be deeply missed by her daughter, Bettijayn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Bertha; brother, Jack; and her son, Richard.
Friends will be received at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, Ohio on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 from 11:00AM until the 12:00PM funeral service officiated by Elder Wayne Vanaman. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
