She was born September 9, 1945, in Ravenna, Ohio, to parents Robert and Anna (Bretti) Huggins. Linda was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Ravenna. Linda was a first-generation college graduate from Kent State University with her Masters in Literature. She had a love of Shakespeare and taught it to her nieces. Linda tutored many young students in reading and writing papers and volunteered at Maplewood Career Center to help adults pass their GED. She worked for the Social Security Administration where she retired after 30 years and worked at the family business, Huggins Egg Ranch when she was home.
She was an avid reader, loved jigsaw puzzles, crosswords and traveling. Linda was a member of the Junior Thursday Book Club and Friends of the Reed Memorial Library.
Linda is survived by her sister Barbara (Huggins) Sampson, nieces Connie (Michael) Hall, Kathy Sampson, Jennifer (Michael) Smith, Kimberly (Donny Smith) Huggins along with generations of loving great nieces, nephews, Godchildren, and family friend Kathy Cordaro. She is also survived by her beloved pets who miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Robert Frank Huggins, her brother-in-law David Sampson and family friend Mary Kiss.
Friends and family will be received Saturday, February 17, 2024, from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM with funeral services officiated by Pastor Norma Bates and Kathy Cordaro at 12:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E Main St., Ravenna. Interment will follow at Grandview Memorial Park.
