Leonard was born January 28, 1947 in Cassity, West Virginia to the late Delpha E. and Gertrude (Zirkle) Smith. He was a graduate of Coalton High School. Leonard was an avid sports fan of all Cleveland sports teams. He enjoyed Nascar, and the occasional round of poker.
Leonard retired from General Motors in Lordstown with over 30 years of service. He was a member of UAW Local 1112.
Besides his parents, Leonard is preceded in death by his brothers, Carol “Bub” Smith and James “Jim” Smith, and his sisters, Virginia Cutright and Doris Arnold.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Constance Smith; his children, Roger L. (Kelly) Smith, Curtis L. Smith, Michael (Tricia) Smith, and Tammy Nadiak; 14 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; his sisters, Eva Markley and Janice “Jake” Markley, sister-in-law Mary Smith, and brother-in-law Edward Cutright, and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call 10AM-1PM Saturday, January 21st at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St. in Ravenna. The funeral service will begin at 1PM with Pastor Chris Laws officiant.
