He was born March 9, 1944, in Barberton, Ohio, to parents James W. and Alberta Mae (Anderson) Seggie. James proudly served his country as a member of the US Marine Corps. He spent most of his working career as a truck driver and machinist. James was an avid football fan of the Cleveland Browns and Dallas Cowboys. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandkids.
James is survived by his children: Kathy (Martin) Der, Caroline (Greg) Hill, and James W. (Diane) Seggie III, as well as his grandchildren: Derek Freeland, Dawn Freeland, Penny (Ryan) Johnson, James Seggie IV, and Erin Moore, his great-grandchildren: Whitley Freeland, Kaylyn Freeland, K.J. Ish, Raylyn and Thomas, along with one more on the way. He is also survived by his sister Rose (Bill) Howes and several extended family members.
James was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Edith Seggie, and his grandson Ryan Freeland.
