James Rollen “Jim” Rumsey, 89, left to be with his wife Peg of 62 years, and the Lord, to help prepare a place for his loved ones on Tuesday, February 27, 2018.
Jim was born in Verona, Pennsylvania on October 23, 1928, to parents Emerson and Hazel. He was a good man who worked hard to provide for his family. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, a United States Navy Veteran and a long-standing member of the Ohio Operating Engineers. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and he loved golfing and gardening.
Surviving Jim is his sister Velma Monroe of Pennsylvania, his children: Jim (Sandy) Rumsey, Diane Rumsey, Randy (Pam) Rumsey, Budd (Lynne) Rumsey and Sonny (Linda) Rumsey. He also leaves his grandchildren: Mike (Meghann) Rumsey, Teresa (Chris) Crull, Jeffrey Rumsey, David (Wendy) Rumsey, Kyle (Steven) Martin, and Samantha Rumsey; and his great-grandchildren: Ollie, Maggie, Colt, Hannah and Bowie.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife Peg, his parents, his brother George and his sisters Olive and Mary Hazel.
The family will have a private memorial service for Jim.

Jim loved his dog Christopher who he adopted from the Animal Protective League, and he became an advocate for adopting rescue pets. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Animal Protective League, 8122 Infirmary Road, Ravenna, Ohio 44266.
