He was born March 27, 1936, in Coal Creek, Tennessee, to parents William M. and Carrie Lou (Cardin) Myers. James worked as an equipment operator at Crucible Steel in Streetsboro for 33 years. Jim was a Mason, belonging to Parkside Lodge 0736 in Brooklyn, Ohio. He was also a member of the Ravenna and Streetsboro Eagles, Streetsboro VFW, and the Ravenna Italian American Society. James always enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Jim is survived by his loving companion Cathleen Finch; children: James H. (Paula) Myers Jr. of Aurora, Sandra (Carl) Demio of Brooklyn, OH, Amber L. (Nick) Myers Buleski of Streetsboro, and Autumn Myers of Ravenna; and brother Joe (Sue) Myers of Tennessee. James’ memory will also be cherished by his grandchildren: Marissa, Christopher, Mckenzie, Tommy, Colleen, Taygen, and Blake; great-grandchildren: Jackson, Dylan, Chloe, and Bentley; as well as Wanda Saltsman and Beatrix Ehlerman.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Bill and Charles Myers.
Friends will be received Saturday, September 14, 2013, from 2:00 – 5:00 at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna. Masonic Services will take place at the funeral home on Sunday at 12:30 PM followed by a funeral service officiated by Pastor David Ballert. Interment will follow at Grandview Memorial Park in Ravenna.
