He was born to parents Lloyd A. and Mary E. (Jaberg) Murphy on May 16, 1939 in Dover, Ohio.
Jack was a wonderful man, great husband and father who loved his family dearly.
He was an active member of the Full Gospel Mission Church in Ravenna. Jack was a faith driven man and Minister. He loved to be involved with his church.
Jack enjoyed a long career as a Building Inspector for the cities of Ravenna, Stow, Lorain and retired from North Royalton. He was also owner of Murphy Electric.
Jack was a long-standing member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), International Code Council (ICC) and the Building Officials and Code Administrators International (BOCA). Jack took great pride in teaching code classes on Saturdays to help individuals interested in the trade to become Building Inspectors and Electricians or for those looking to up date themselves on current building codes.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary (Findo) Murphy, three daughters, three sons, many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, four siblings and one son.
Jack’s family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to all the staff of Western Reserve Hospital and everyone at Western Reserve Hospice for their gracious and compassionate care given to Jack and our family.
Per his wishes, cremation is being honored and a celebration of his life will be held on September 7, 2024 for the immediate family.
