He was born July 23, 1948, to parents Catherine Louise (Sabo) and Herman Clyde Prevot Sr. Herman was a lifelong resident of Deerfield and affectionately known as Butch to family and friends.
Herman graduated from Southeast High School in 1966. He truly was a Jack-of-all-Trades. He worked in the steel industry, operated his family farm, and retired from Robinson Memorial Hospital. Butch also served as a Deerfield Township Trustee and Zoning Inspector. He was a member of the Southeast Portage County Lions Club and Deerfield Masonic Charity Lodge #530.
Herman enjoyed the outdoors, whether it was farming or mowing his own lawn. He also enjoyed traveling and will be fondly remembered for his sense of humor. Above all, Butch was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. In fact he was a father figure to many people throughout his life.
Herman married his high school sweetheart, Mary Elizabeth (Kaltenbach) Prevot. The couple celebrated over 59 years together, until her passing on June 8, 2024. They are now reunited for eternity.
Herman is survived by his children: Melissa (Roger) Mansfield, Theresa (Randy) Wilburn and Stephanie (Jack) Arnold, his beloved grandchildren Amber (John) Mesko, Autumn Alexander, Brittany (Robert Bryner) Arnold, Brandon Arnold, Dakota Mansfield, and great-grandchildren Johnny & Kinsley Mesko, Bentley Drake and Berkley Alexander. He is also survived by his siblings: Osta (Fred) Reagan, Mary Jane Perry, and Judy Vineyard, his in-laws: Patti Lockney, Ann (Bo) Belacic, and Joe (Cindy) Kaltenbach, along with many loving extended family, dear friends, and his four legged buddies Tucker, Sampson, and Tally.
