He was born September 16, 1969, in Ravenna, Ohio, to parents Ronald Edward Smith and Lynn I. (Brooks). Greg graduated from Southeast High School in 1989 and later attended TDDS Technical Institute. Greg was a hard worker who held many positions throughout his career including working at IWC, Pilot Logistics, Ryder Truck Co., and Mid-Ohio Fork Lift.
Greg was a member of the Deerfield Friends Church. He was a caring person with a kind heart. Greg cherished the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. Greg also enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and was an avid Washington Redskins fan. He was a talented handyman and operated “P-Pa’s Workbench” as his side construction business.
On June 23, 1990, Greg married his high school sweetheart Amy (Wilson), and together raised their daughter Crystal (Dalton) Wellner. Greg is also survived by his grandchildren: Dalton II, Brooklyn, Isabella, and Bentley Wellner, as well as his mother Lynn Arbogast, his brother Bill Smith, along with many loving nieces, nephews, extended family and friends, including many who were considered “adopted” into the Smith Family.
Greg was preceded in death by his father Ronald Smith and his brother Bob Smith on April 2, 2021.
Friends and family will be received Tuesday, August 10, 2021, from 3:00 – 5:00 PM with a funeral service following officiated by Pastor Jody Hill at 5:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E.
