He was born August 6, 1935, in Ravenna, Ohio, to parents Felix and Carmela (Ferri) Giulitto. Jerry graduated from Ravenna Township High School in 1953. He was an outstanding athlete who excelled at football.
Jerry was a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Parish. He was a bricklayer and stone mason by trade. Jerry took great pride in his work and his attention to detail. Sports remained a large part of Jerry’s life. He was active in his sons’ sports, including serving as president for both the Ravenna Rams youth football program the Ravenna High School football booster club.
Later in life, Jerry earned his private pilot’s license. He enjoyed flying with friends and family, often circling the area and stopping for a slice of pie. He also went on several long distance vacation trips, including a few flights to Florida.
Most of all Jerry loved his family. On November 24, 1956, he married his beloved LaFond (Linton) Giulitto. In addition to LaFond, Jerry is survived by his children: Gina (Tom) Ralston, Jerry (Tracy) Giulitto, and Jim (Melissa) Giulitto, as well as his grandchildren: Gust (Jenn) Spilios, Angela (Jason) Ashton, Tyler (Amelia) Ralston, LaFond (Garrett) Rohal, Reno Giulitto, Thomas Giulitto, and Anna Giulitto. His memory will also be cherished by great-grandchildren: Wyatt, Colt, Cade, Cam, Elizabeth, Evelynn, and Denver, along with many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family members, including his lifelong friend Chuck Urick, who introduced Jerry and LaFond many years ago. Their families continue a deep friendship to this day.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Vito Giulitto.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend William Kraynak and Deacon Dean Giulitto at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 9, 2023, at Immaculate Conception Church, 409 W. Main St., Ravenna. Entombment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery.
