Garnette Louise White

Garnette Louise White, age 78, affectionately known as “Aunt, Aunt Garnie, or Miss Garnie” passed away surrounded by her family on November 20, 2024. She was born April 26, 1946, to parents Joseph Nathan and Emma Jean (Brown) Logan.

On January 29, 1966, Garnette married the love of her life, the late James J. White. Her main focus was creating a loving home, where they raised their nephews Joseph and Terry, and their niece Adrienne Logan-Smithers.

Garnette was known to have one of the biggest and best gardens in town and was kind enough to share her vegetables with her family, friends, and neighbors. She was an excellent cook too! Her baked beans were her specialty. Her kindness was exhibited beyond sharing her vegetables as she was a care giver to many family members in their time of failing health. Garnette was also a prankster and loved to make you laugh. She especially loved pulling pranks on April Fools’ Day.

Besides her parents and husband James, Garnette was preceded in death by her siblings Louis Logan, Marion Logan, William Logan, Lora Mason, and Joyce Bethune.

She leaves to forever cherish her loving memory Joseph Logan, Terry Logan, Adrienne (Frank) Logan-Smithers, sister Cheryl Logan, brother Thomas Logan, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, friends, and her cat Daisy.

The family would like to thank the staff of UH Portage Medical Center for their attentiveness and care of Garnette. Special thanks are also extended to dear friends Clarence and Jennifer Williams, Mike Furness, Antoinette Brown, and Vicki.

Friends and family will be received Monday, December 2, 2024, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, from 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM funeral service at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna. Services will be officiated by Pastor Patricia Dennison and Pastor Tod Huston, with Ronnie Logan delivering the eulogy. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
