Edward Joseph McCann

He was born February 3, 1956, in Bedford, Ohio, to parents Paul and Alice (Keohlin) McCann. Ed graduated from Twinsburg High School and went to work at Cuyahoga Steel and Wire. His most recent job was with the Ravenna Marc’s pharmacy as their delivery person.

Ed was a Christian and previously served as a Pastor. He was a devoted member of Community Bible Church in Rootstown. Ed was a fan of all Cleveland sports, but was an avid Cleveland Browns fan. He was a completely selfless person, always caring for those around him and doing anything to make others smile and feel loved.

The living family tree that Ed leaves behind includes: his sister Cynthia (Richard) Gipko, his daughter Michele (Bryant) Salus and her children Paige and Keira, his son Ian Hafemeister and grandson Blake Hafemeister, his sister-in-law Kelly McCann, his nephew Thomas (Lori) Morris, his nephew Dale Merryman, his niece Sherri (Hamadi) Grimes, and his nephew Michael (Sheri) Merryman.

For for the past 16 years, Edward was a beloved caretaker and member of the Valesky family, including Eric, Jessica, Siiri, and Megan.  His love and selflessness will live on in our family forever.  We are grateful that he is finally pain free and able to be his wild and carefree self in Heaven now.

The family Edward has been reunited with in death are his parents, his sister Kathy McCann, and his brother Bill McCann.

Friends and family will be received Tuesday, August 8, 2023, from 4:00 – 6:00 PM with a funeral service officiated by Pastor Scott Hindel at 6:00 PM at the Community Bible Church, 3671 Tallmadge Rd, Rootstown, OH 44272.
