Earl was born on September 14, 1945 in Youngstown, Ohio to parents Earl E. Sr. and Geraldine (Downs) Johnson. He graduated from Archbishop Hoban High School with the class of 1963 and went on to work at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in the research department for 15 years. He had been an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed many hunting trips to the cabin in Newcomerstown. Earl also loved the beach and especially surf fishing at the Outer Banks. Earl also enjoyed reading, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and grandchildren, especially all of their sporting events.
Earl is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Janita (Gabor) Johnson and his children Valerie (Greg) Bokar, Mike (Jennifer) Johnson and Clay (Ralinda) Stanger. He also leaves his beloved grandchildren Dylan, Rachel & Zachary Slonsky, Matthew and Jared Johnson and Autumn, Amber & Addison Stanger.
